New blog, first post, new translation idea.

I would like input from people on an idea I have.

I've been thinking of making a laymans translation of the Bible.  I would base it on the Douay-Rheims-Challoner and reference the KJV, the Confraternity NT, and the Concordance Literal Version.
I do not know any original biblical languages, in fact I only know English, so I guess what I'd be doing is not so much "translating" as it would be just publishing.  I'd like to make a literal translation, but I am in desperate need of input from folks.  I have completed the first chapter of the Gospel of Mark, please give me input, any criticism, good or bad, is welcomed.

Thank you and God bless

The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare the way before thee.
A voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight His paths.
John the baptist came to be in the wilderness, heralding a baptism of repentance unto the remission of sins.
And there went out to him all the province of Judea, and all they of Jerusalem, and were baptied by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
And John was clothed with camel's hair, with a leather belt about his waist.  His food was locusts and wild honey.7And thus he proclaimed: There cometh one mightier than I after me, whos sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.
I, indeed, have baptized you with water: but He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
And it occured in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
And immediately, coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit as if a dove descending, and remaining, upon him:
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
Immediately thereafter, the Spirit driveth him out into the desert.
And he was in the desert forty days, and forty nights, being tried by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels served him.
Now after that John had been arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God,
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God has drawn near, be ye repenting and be ye believing in the holy Gospel!
Now as he walked beside the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I shall make you into fishers of men.
And immediately they forsook their nets, and they followed him.
And going on from thence a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat adjusting their nets.
And immediately he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with his hired men, and they followed him.
And they went into Capernaum; and immediately on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and he taught:
And they were astonished at his doctrine.  For he was teaching them as One having authority, and not as the scribes.
And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out;
Saying, Ha!  What is it to us and to thee, Jesus of Nazareth?  Hast thou come to destroy us?  I am aware of thee, who thou art, the Holy One of God!
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be still, and come out of him.
And, convulsing him, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice, and came out of him.
And all were awestruck, insomuch that they discussed among themselves, saying, What is this?  What new doctrine is this?  For with authority commands he even the unclean spirits, and they are obeying him!
And immediately his fame spread abroad, into the whole country round about Galilee.
And immediately, coming out of the synagogue, they came into the home of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
Now the mother-in-law of Simon was bedridden with a fever, and immediately they tell Him of her.
And He came, held her by the hand, and he roused her; and the fever left her immediately, and she waited on them.
And evening becoming, when the sun had set, they brought unto him all them that had various illnesses, and those afflicted with demons, demoniacs.
And the whole city was assembled together toward the door.
And he cured many of them that were afflicted wtih various diseases, and case out many demons; and He did not permit the demons to speak, for they knew He was the Christ.
And in the morning, rising up very early whilst it was still night, he went out and departed into a solitary, desolate place, and there He prayed.
And Simon, and they that were with him, trailed after him.
And finding him, they say unto him, All are seeking for thee.
And he says to them, Let us go into the next towns, that there I shall preach unto them, for this I have come forth.
And he preached in the synagogues, through the whole of Galilee, heralding and casting out demons
And there came a leper to him, entreating him, and falling on his knees to him, and saying unto him, if thou will, thou canst cleanse me!
Now Jesus, being moved with compassion, stretched out his hand and touched him, and said unto him, I am willing; be thou cleansed.
And as soon as he had thus spake, the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
And he strictly charged him, and immediately sent him away.
And said to him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing that which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
Then however, he went out, and he began spreading the word abroad, so much so that Jesus could no longer openly enter into the city, but stayed outside in desert places: and many came to him from everywhere.
